Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how Tactful ("we", "us", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Tactful iOS application. We built Tactful to help you prepare for difficult conversations, and we are committed to handling your information carefully and transparently.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the minimum information needed to operate the app:

• Anonymous device identifier. We generate a random identifier stored on your device to recognize it across sessions (for example, to track free-trial usage). This is not linked to your real identity.
• Identifier for Vendor (IDFV). An Apple-provided identifier used for basic, aggregate analytics.
• Conversation inputs. The details you type into a scenario form (for example, context about a raise request) are sent to our servers solely to generate your script.
• Feedback you submit. If you send feedback, we store your message and any screenshot you choose to attach, along with your app version, operating system version, and device model to help us diagnose issues.
• Usage analytics. Anonymous, aggregate events (such as which screens are opened or when a script is generated) to understand and improve the app.
• Subscription status. Whether you have an active subscription, managed through Apple and RevenueCat.

2. AI Processing of Your Inputs

Tactful generates conversation scripts using a third-party large language model (Google's Gemini API). When you generate a script, the information you entered into the scenario form is transmitted to this AI service for the sole purpose of producing your response.

AI provider. Our current third-party AI provider is Google Gemini API. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share your conversation inputs with third-party AI providers except as needed to generate the script you request.

Your conversation inputs are not used by Tactful for advertising or to build a marketing profile about you.

Please avoid entering sensitive personal information (such as financial account numbers, health information, or government identifiers) into the conversation forms. The inputs are used only to generate your script and are not used to build a profile of you.

3. How We Use Information

• To generate conversation scripts you request.
• To provide, maintain, and improve the app's features and content.
• To enforce free-usage limits and manage subscriptions.
• To respond to feedback and provide technical support.
• To monitor stability and diagnose technical problems.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversation inputs for advertising.

4. Third-Party Services

We rely on a small number of reputable service providers, each governed by its own privacy policy:

• Google Gemini API — generates the conversation scripts from your inputs.
• Supabase — securely stores feedback, anonymous analytics, and scenario content.
• RevenueCat & Apple — process and manage subscriptions and in-app purchases.

5. Data Retention

We retain feedback and analytics data only as long as necessary for the purposes described above. Conversation inputs are processed to generate your script and are not retained to identify you. Scripts you choose to save are stored locally on your device.

6. Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the EU GDPR or the California CCPA, including the right to access or delete your information.

• Deletion. Because we use an anonymous device identifier, you can reset it by deleting and reinstalling the app, or by contacting us to request deletion of feedback associated with your device.
• Saved scripts. Scripts saved on your device are removed when you delete them in the app or uninstall the app.

7. Children's Privacy

Tactful is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls, to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
